About Us

Dawn is a native of North Carolina.  At her grandmothers knee she learned to love fresh food from the earth and sea. Growing up with seafood still flopping or crawling in the sink was an everyday event.

Dawn worked in her family restaurants located in the Wilmington, NC area.  She learned the restaurant business from the ground up. Starting by washing dishes and bussing tables, holding every position in the business.  In her early twenties she was chef, managing owner of a seafood restaurant.   Her husband and she opened a fine dining restaurant on the inter coastal waterway specializing and utilizing fresh local ingredient.  Then they moved to the Outer Banks of NC.   Dawn was chef & managing partner of Lodivichie's Italian restaurant in kill devil hills, NC.  She won awards for her Italian unique and authentic cuisine; won chowder cook offs for her shrimp & corn chowder.  Lodivichie's was written up in the Virginia pilot and the Washington post - the food is fabulous, service is professional and efficient.

Dawn is now chef and creator of dawn's kitchen - gourmet to go.  Dawn uses only the freshest produce, meats & seafood. Insuring the highest quality, most flavorful dishes available.  
Lunch is served from 11 am to 3 pm Monday thru Friday.  Eat-in or take out.  
Delivery available from Jarvisburg to kitty hawk.

We are serving dinners to go.  Orders must be made by 6 pm.

We are able to cater business luncheons & dinner meetings or if you desire a party catered, dawn will make your event painless. Your guest will be delighted that you are able to join in the fun and party with them, not tied to

Our exclusive in-home cooking experiences are perfect for romantic dinners, unique birthdays, team building events, and small groups that want personalized cooking instruction. Our in-home cooking classes are best suited for groups of 2 to 8 people depending on the size of your kitchen.
